The Tin Man Triathlon is Saturday, June 8th

Tinman Triathlon (Swim-Bike-Run) takes place on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Deerspring Park in Deerfield, IL. The event is open to anyone eight years of age or above and includes a 300 meter Swim (6 lengths in a 50 meter pool), 6-mile Bike Ride (w/required helmet) and 3-mile Run. Check-in for registered triathletes is at 6:30 AM, with Pre-Race Instructions at 7:15AM. Race starting time is 7:30AM, ending at 10AM.

Advanced registration is highly suggested for the Tinman Triathlon (Activity #463301 – Section 01); at: http://www.deerfieldparks.org/events/tin-man-triathlon/. Participant numbers are issued in advance, based on submitted swim times; and competitors will start the swim in numerical order. A maximum is set at 200 participants. Registrations will be accepted on race day if there is room. To sign up on race day, you must register by or before 7:00 AM. Registered athletes who do not check in by 7:00AM on the day of the race will be replaced by someone on the waiting list.

Designed for experienced triathletes and beginning participants, Deerfield Park District’s Tinman Triathlon, sponsored by our Coho Swim Club, offers enough to challenge competitors of all levels. There are no age group awards; everyone who finishes is a winner. Tinman Triathlon Coordinator and Coho Swim Club Coach Jeff Napolski says, “This event is great for getting in shape for more ambitious triathlons in the area. We warmly welcome your participation and hope you will make this event a must on your yearly athletic calendar.” The fee is $30 per Deerfield Park District resident and $35 per nonresident, if paid before June 6th. After June 6th, the fee is $35 per resident and $40 per nonresident. Race fee includes a Triathlon T-shirt, race packet and refreshments.
