Tennis Pro at Sachs Recreation Center receives prestigious award

On behalf of Sachs Recreation Center (SRC) and Deerfield Park District, Director of Revenue Facilities Tony Korzyniewski congratulates Tennis Teaching Professional Rob Black on receiving the coveted USPTA Illinois Tennis Professional of the Year award. This award is presented by the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) to a tennis professional based on tennis industry involvement, teaching accomplishments, and volunteer work.

Black is a staff member of First Serve Management. Dana Joseph and Chris Cabanban of First Serve Management and their team of instructors including Rob Black provide tennis services indoors at Sachs Recreation Center and outdoors at Mitchell Park, through Deerfield Park District. Rob Black is a USPTA Elite Professional and USTA High Performance Coach.

Black received the above-mentioned award at the recent USPTA Midwest Tennis Professionals Conference in Columbus, Ohio, being selected from among more than 500 teaching professionals in Illinois. This is the second time Black has been given the honor of USPTA Illinois Tennis Professional of the Year (1999 & 2013). Winning the Illinois award also qualifies him as a candidate for the USPTA National Professional of the Year award. In addition to his work at Sachs Recreation Center, in Deerfield, Black is also a Tennis Teaching Professional at the East Bank Club and Director of Tennis at Briarwood Country Club.
