7 Wrestlers qualify for Sectionals. Team places second in McHenry Regional. Colton takes a first place.

In what proved to be one of the deepest Regionals (7 teams honorable mention or ranked in the state). The wrestlers finished second to Barrington who has won 4 Regionals in a row having beat Deerfield by 1.5 points last year.  It was a see-saw battle all day as Deerfield, McHenry, and Barrington all had the lead at one point.

7 wrestlers qualified for he Sectional this Friday and Saturday at Barrington High School and 2 wrestlers took 4th.

Freshmen Kyle Clough took 4th place to just miss advancing in a very deep weight class at 106.

Senior Joey Bloom finished 3rd to advance.  Joey lost a close match in the semi's but came back with a pin and tech fall.

Sophomore Andrew Mehrholz took second after a triple overtime match with a 2 x state placer in the finals.

Senior Brian Spinello took second place at 126 with a 3-1 loss in the finals.

Senior Jeff Spinello earned a major decision in the 3rd place match to advance.

Sophomore Sage Heller took second losing to the top ranked wrestler in the state at 138 by decision.

Senior Colton Emmerich placed first at 182 improving his record to 40-1.

Junior Christo Moran placed 4th at 195.  He lost a hard fought match for 3rd.

Senior David Vanderkloot finished in 2nd place at the heavy weight division earning valuable team points.
