2012 National Merit Semifinalists Named

Several Deerfield and Highland Park High School students make the list.

District 113 proudly acknowledges the academic talent of their high school seniors who were named National Merit Semifinalists in the 57th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. The National Merit Scholarship Program honors individual students who show exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies.

These students have the opportunity to compete for some 8,300 National Merit Scholarships, worth more than $34 million. Scholarships offered are underwritten by approximately 440 business organizations and higher education institutions that share National Merit Scholarship Corporation’s goal of honoring the nation’s scholastic champions and encouraging the pursuit of academic excellence.

Deerfield High School’s 2011 National Merit Semifinalists include:  Elaine
Arbaugh, Jason Brown, Michael Fosco, Kerry Glass, David Lichko, and Anna
Saplitski.

Highland Park High School’s 2011 National Merit Semifinalists include:  Rachel Bohmbach, Jacob Humerick, William King, Alana Lidawer, Jared Molk, Nathaniel Pettengill, Michael Schoof, Kellen Svetov, Ari Weiland, and Zachary Weiner.
