CBO Application Deadline Friday

Students encouraged to submit CBO applications by Friday.

(CBO) is a mentoring and scholarship program for students who need financial assistance and could use the help of a mentor to guide them through the college application process and their four years of college. High school juniors are selected for this program through an application and interview process.

Applications are due this Friday, January 6th. The criteria for this program are: A minimum grade point average of 2.8, a critical need for a mentor to help guide the student through the college process and through the four years of college, and a household income of not more than $60,000 for a family of four, barring any extraordinary circumstances.

The CBO scholarship program relies on the generous financial support and volunteer mentors from the local community.

Applications can be downloaded at www.cbo4edu.org or in the counseling centers at Highland Park and Deerfield High Schools.

For more information about becoming a volunteer mentor for CBO, contact Susan
Bell at 847-943-9226.

There is nothing historical about this house. The historical house was torn down in order to buildRead More a modern house which vaguely resembles the home that was owned by Lyman Wilmot. But calling this new construction "an important part of the history of Deerfield" is a travesty.

Mara, So sorry you feel this way. We feel that this really improves the neighborhood. Tried toRead More keep much of old structure, but Igor's rehab and lack of upkeep, made it impossible. couldn't even keep floors, all warped from water and walls full of mold. City did nothing to stop Igor from combining two distinct properties. I am having a champagne lunch Wed. June 19, 11:30 to 1:30. Would love for you to come and see the house. Maybe that will change your mind. Annette Kalcheim

Annette - my first statement was "beautiful house" so I have no qualms with your outcome -Read More however, this is a re-do, re-creation not the original house. But good luck! I am sure you will find a buyer quickly!
