District 113 Finance Study Group Meets Regarding Facilities

The Finance Study Group from District 113 Met Regarding Facilities

District 113 hosted the first of several Finance Study Group meetings on August 11. At this initial meeting, the group reviewed the charge of the members/team. They also reviewed baseline financial data pertaining to the District and the initial referendum question.

Some financial data points that were reviewed included: financials for the past three years, CUSIP for current debt, the state of District 113 reserves, and capital projects completed over the last ten years.

Most of the committee is comprised of interested community members who volunteered to serve on the study group. This study group will meet several times analyzing key aspects of the facility/technology plan as it pertains to financing the needed improvements to both Deerfield and Highland Park High School.

The Finance Study Group will report to a Leadership Team who will make a recommendation to the District 113 Board of Education about next steps following the failed referendum for District 113 last spring.

Meeting minutes of all the study groups are available on the District 113 website. A calendar of meetings is also available on the District 113 website. Members of
the public are invited to attend as audience members. The overall goal of these
study groups is to provide the community with a forum to make recommendations
about next steps regarding the facility/technology needs of Deerfield and
Highland Park High School.
