The District 113 Education Foundation was established in 2007 as a 501(c)3 Organization. Its mission is to enhance and enrich the education programs at Deerfield and Highland Park High Schools by promoting and supporting innovative educational opportunities. The Foundation supports teacher and staff initiated innovative educational and cultural programs, student activities for supplemental instruction and programs, and community sponsored events that enhance the education experience in our schools, which are not otherwise funded by the school District budget. Grants awarded have supported programs such as Latin Dance, Giants Performing Arts, Robotics, Beyond Homework, the Spanish and French Libraries, Interactive White Boards, the Literary Festival, Mock Trial Club, and the Young Journalist Work Project.  Its Board of Directors consists of a group of highly motivated parents, community members, faculty, students and administrators. Since it’s founding in 2007 the Foundation has awarded over $150,000 covering almost 60 grants. Additional information can be found on its website at district113foundation.org.
