SAVE THE DATE: Community Engagement Meetings

Follow District 113's facility planning process and provide your feedback.

District 113 has been developing a Long Range Facility Plan for Deerfield and Highland Park High Schools for the past 16 months that addresses education, infrastructure, technology, repair, and maintenance needs.

District 113 wrapped up a year-long study group process, hired the architecture firm Perkins+Will and the construction management firm Gilbane, completed structural testing on 100-year-old buildings at HPHS and selected a Steering Committee made up of community members to oversee the entire design process.

Perkins+Will will update residents on their master plans for DHS and HPHS at three upcoming community engagement meetings. Each meeting will be unique and architects will present different information. District 113 is encouraging residents to attend all three meetings to learn about the master planning process and to provide their feedback. Perkins+Will will use that feedback to continue to develop their plans and will present updated information at each new meeting.

"We've made sure the community has been part of the process every step of the way," District 113 Superintendent George Fornero said. "This Long Range Facility Plan will be designed to provide planning for our high schools 25-to-50 years down the road and we need as much community input as we can get. I urge residents to stay involved and attend our upcoming community engagement meetings."
