$100,000 of Pot Gets Recycled and Squirrels Behave Badly

Evanston police found 100 pounds of pot with a street value of more than $100,000 in a recycling bin.

High falutin' lootin'

Residents who were moving out of an Arlington Heights condominium decided not to load everything into the car and forgot to put the lock back on to the storage unit. When they came back to clear out the rest of the items, they discovered that champagne flutes, wine glasses a decanter and a step stool were all missing.

Men misinterpret the meaning of the name Libertyville

In two separate incidents, men entered homes in Libertyville that were not theirs. In one, the man fell asleep on the couch.

Dump truck

A construction site in Morton Grove was broken into and fecal matter was smeared on a front loader. Feces was put into the gas tank of the machine, and was also found on the outside of a port-a-potty.

When mole people strike!

A man reported that he lost his wallet in a Wilmette park. He found some of the wallet contents hidden in the sand.

Squirrel super hero frustrated by humans' lack of interest in his powers

A Glencoe resident reported a sugar glider in their residence. A Northern Flying Squirrel had gotten inside through a sliding glass door. The squirrel, which was healthy, was caught in a box but escaped and glided away into the neighbor's yard onto a tree.

Seven bird feeders and a woodpecker wood block were taken and/or damaged at an Arlington Heights home. The resident told police his dog woke him up at 2 a.m. and he believes that is when the unknown offenders did the damage.

Two more bird feeders were also taken from a different Arlington Heights home.
