Money goes for Lung Cancer Research.

This information comes from a news release provided by Breathe Deep North Shore.

Whole Foods Market Deerfield presented LUNGevity Foundation volunteers with a check for $4,372 in support of Breathe Deep North Shore, taking the event’s fundraising total over $170,000, far exceeding expectations. Breathe Deep North Shore took place on April 28, 2013 at Deerfield High School when over 1,500 participants and volunteers gathered for a 5K fun-run, one-mile walk and balloon launch to help increase lung cancer awareness and raise crucial funds for research.

“The success of Breathe Deep North Shore is so much more than the number of participants and dollars raised," said Jill Feldman, Deerfield mom of four and lung cancer patient. “It was a true grassroots effort where a community united because they care and want to make a difference.”

“We are truly in awe of how our community has embraced our cause and this event,” said Sue Bersh, Event Co-Coordinator and LUNGevity Board Member. “The morning was filled with great warmth and meaning for those devastated by lung cancer and those who attended in support.”

“We are thrilled with our success and can’t wait to build on it for next year,” added Cindy Schwartz, Event Co-Coordinator. “The North Shore has shown how much they care with the 13 suburbs that declared Breathe Deep North Shore Day and the huge turnout at our event.”
