Filling Up? Cheapest Gas Prices in Deerfield
Drivers feel pain at the pump this holiday weekend.
According to AAA, 39 million Americans are going to hit the road this holiday weekend. Before you get behind the wheel, Deerfield Patch wanted to check our area’s gas stations to find the cheapest places to fill up.
As of 1:15 p.m. on Friday $3.83 was the lowest price local drivers were going to see. Based off information from IllinoisGasPrices.com you can find that deal at the on Waukegan & Osterman Avenue and the on Waukegan & Hunter Court.
The BP and at Waukegan and Lake Cook Roads boosted their prices from $3.83 to $3.87 around 1 p.m.

According to the website, the cheapest gas in Illinois is selling right now for $3.35 at a Sam’s Club in Champaign. While the national average for a gallon of regular gas is at $3.79.
AAA forecasts a 2.5 percent decline in Independence Day travel this year compared to last, experts also claim Americans are flying more and driving less.

“AAA is projecting a slight decline in the number of Independence Day travelers mainly due to fuel prices being approximately one dollar per gallon higher than last year,” said Glen MacDonell, director, AAA Travel Services.
“Increased fuel costs are also responsible for a shift in the demographics of the typical Independence Day traveler as higher prices impact lower income households more significantly.”
