Local Artists Shine at Deerfield Art Fest

Roseman, Levy join national field displaying work at Deerfield Festival of Fine Art.

Two local artists, one from Deerfield and one from Bannockburn, joined a national field Saturday and Sunday at the Village’s annual Festival of Fine Art displaying an array of paintings, jewelry, sculpture, music and more.

Water color painter Barbara Roseman of Deerfield was there displaying her work as was sculptor Karen Levy from Bannockburn. You can see videos of both of them describing their work.

The show’s featured artist and last year’s winner was Prince Duncan Williams, a native of Ghana now living in Nevada. Watch a video of him describing his work with fiber. The price of some of his work exceeded $10,000.

In addition to the Village’s usual weekend of art, food and music, The Deerfield Bannockburn Riverwoods Chamber of Commerce arranged Dancing in the Streets featuring Shirley King, the daughter of B.B. King. Food and beverages from Trax Tavern and Grill, DC Sarnies and Demetri’s were also available.
