Park District Wins Readers’ Choice Award
The best summer youth activities in town are put on by the Deerfield Park District, according to Patch readers.
Summer camps of the were the near unanimous winner of this Week’s Readers’ Choice Award for the best summer activity for the Village’s youth.
Of the 25 people who voted, 22 chose Park District programs while three gave the nod to . No one gave reviews to the Park District, Starland or but a special mention goes to the Deerfield Youth Baseball Association (DYBA).
Though Patch excluded part time activities like the DYBA or other sports leagues, several readers did not let us forget the organization is an important part of life in Deerfield along with the Park District.

“DYBA Summer Baseball and are tops,” writes Harry Steindler. “Check out www.dyba.com to register now. Best summer activities in Deerfield and beyond without a doubt.”
Based on reader comments, Park District Sports Camps may be the best of the best. After Steindler wrote about his favorites, TMom was quick to add her opinion.

“My son does Boys Sports camp as well as DYBA summer baseball. Both are great,” TMom writes. Boys Sports Camp is one of the Park Districts many summer youth offerings.
Another reader, writing under the name of Paradise, also praised the Park District Sports Camps. “The Deerfield Park District Sports Camps for boys are a total blast. My kids have had so much fun. Awesome counselors and programming. Very well run. Keep up the great work, and thanks for offering the camp.”
