By now you may have heard of Max and his unique trick.

After rescuing the Labrador from Riverwood’s animal shelter , Max’s owner Keith Sanderson decided to teach his pup more than the normal game of fetch.

Every morning the duo hit Deerfield’s streets looking for trash to pick up. Max spots things like bottles and cans, retrieves them and brings them to Sanderson to be recycled.

Patch first wrote about back in June. But since then and because of positive responses from the article, we decided to make him the subject of this week’s Patch Portrait.
