2014 Primary Election Candidate Filing Begins Nov. 25

Candidates for Lake County offices must file their nominating papers between Nov. 25 and Dec. 2.

Lake County candidates for local office (other than the City of Lake Forest) seeking a place on the March 2014 ballot may file their nominating papers beginning 8:30 a.m. Nov. 25  at the County Clerk's office, 18 N. County Street, Waukegan. All candidates must file by 5 p.m. Dec. 2.

Petition packets are available online at LakeCandidatePower.info or at the Lake County Clerk's office. Candidates are encouraged to seek competent legal counsel when completing petition packets. Offices to be nominated at the General Primary Election include County Clerk, Sheriff, Treasurer, Regional Superintendent of Schools, County Board Members Districts 3, 6, 8, 9, 10, 17 and 19, and North Shore Sanitary Trustees Districts 3 and 5.

Precinct Committeemen for the two major political parties will be elected at the General Primary Election.
