All creatures and their human friends are invited to the front
lawn of the First Presbyterian Church of Deerfield on September 29 at 3:00 p.m.
for the first annual Blessing of the Animals. Anticipating “a cheerfully
chaotic event,” the church welcomes residents of Deerfield and local
communities to participate in this family activity.
As caregivers for all creation, pet owners have a special
connection to their beloved companions. The Blessing of the Animals will
celebrate this love and the caregiving that is expressed daily by young and old
alike.
