Art in the Moment: Unexpected Art

Art in the Moment is a unique program designed specifically for older adults and their caregivers and friends to spark creative dialogue and nurture positive interactions. Together with a trained CJE SeniorLife Art Therapist, participants view and discuss renowned works of art and then engage in related art-making projects.

In addition to programs at the Art Institute, the community program will now be presented by CJE SeniorLife and the Art Institute of Chicago at Weinberg Community for Senior Living in Deerfield.

On Nov. 28, explore the work of artists who dared to express ideas outside the norm. December's session focuses on art that is inspired by the artists’ connection to Jewish spirituality and religion. In January, take a second look at a selection of designed objects, furniture and other everyday items that through meticulous craft and creative interpretation have been transformed and elevated to a high art status.
