Pastor Brian Roots will lead a workshop on "Centering Prayer," a method of silent prayer designed to facilitate a contemplative awareness of the presence of God not only in the time of prayer, but in one's daily life. Centering Prayer is an updated form of an ancient prayer method that has its roots in the early church.
Reverend Roots received training as a presenter of the one day Centering Prayer Introductory Workshop at St. Benedict's Monastery in Snowmass, Colorado, the home to one of the founders of the Centering Prayer movement, Father Thomas Keating.
The workshop is open to people of all faiths and/or those seeking a more individual approach to spirituality.
