Free Disc Golf Tournament

Deerfield Park District welcomes everyone to experience the excitement of disc golf. Athletics Supervisor Jim Gariti says, “Everyone’s invited –novice through experienced players– to participate in our free, 9-hole disc golf tournament, the “Plastic Classic,” for players of all levels. The event this year has been moved from spring and will take place on Sunday, August 25, from 1:00-3:00 p.m., at Keller/Shepard Parks. The event includes longest drive and closest to the pin contests. If you don’t have your own disc –we will have frisbees available for you to use. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. at the first hole.”

Deerfield Park District’s Disc Golf Course, located behind Shepard Middle School at 440 Grove Place, in Deerfield, and spanning both Shepard and Keller Parks, is also open for year-round play. So, feel free to bring out your Frisbees/discs and practice on your own or play with family and friends. Information on the sport of disc golf and on score cards may be found on the Disc Golf Club of Northeast Illinois website: www.discontiuum.org or on the Professional Disc Golf Association site, www.pdga.com.
