International Security Affairs: Korean War, Cold War (NSSC Class)

How did the Korean War fit in the Cold War, and what were the lessons for Vietnam?  What happened during the combat acceleration when the Republic of Korea sent forces to assist America defend South Vietnam? Learn about North Korea's exploitation of that situation, using special operations forces to inflict allied casualties and attempt to overthrow the ROK government. Alternative strategies and lessons will also be discussed as part of Michael Zimmerman's continuing presentations on international security studies.
