Israel and Palestine: Past and Future
Israeli-Palestinian negotiations resumed in August 2013. To paraphrase Shakespeare and Faulkner, in the Middle East past is prologue, and it's not even past. The history of Jewish-Arab relations is crucial to understand the present, as well as what may come. The first session will run from earliest contacts through the founding of Israel up to the mutual recognition of the Oslo Accords. The second will explore two decades of the Peace Process and Intifada through the current negotiations. Class will be led by Rabbi Adam Chalom, Ph.D.
