JOY OF THE GAME HOLDS SPECIAL WINTER BREAK PROGRAMMING FEATURING BASKETBALL CAMPS, HOLIDAY SHOOTOUT, AND DODGEBALL

DEERFIELD, IL (DECEMBER
2013) –
Joy of the Game (158 S.
Waukegan Road) is thrilled to be hosting a large range of Winter programming at
the newly remodeled facility, including the Chrismukkah Dodgeball Challenge,
3-on-3 Holiday Shootout, Lil Sportsters Camp, and General Skills Basketball
Camp. Programs will run from December 23rd, 2013 through January 5th,
2014.



 



The Little Sportsters Camp is a fun multi-sports camp for
boys and girls in kindergarten through 3rd grade who can enjoy a
general sports camp with fun contests, instruction, and a little competition. Soccer,
tee ball, floor hockey, basketball, dodgeball, and others are among the sports
that will be played. Basketball will be played daily with an emphasis on skill
development. The camp is available in two different sessions, the first week
being on Monday, December 23rd, Thursday, December 26th,
and Friday, December 27th, 2013, and the second week on Monday,
December 30th, Thursday, January 2nd, and Friday, January
3rd, 2014. The camp goes from 9am-2pm, and costs $75 per day or $199
per weekly session.

The General Skills Basketball Camp will focus on basketball
fundamentals, led by Joy of the Game’s top trainers. Available for boys and
girls in 4th-8th grades, this camp will help players get
prepared for the Spring basketball season. Whether a guard, wing, or post
player, Joy of the Game’s qualified coaching staff will teach the fundamentals
necessary to be effective and efficient, with and without the ball. Coaches
will focus on ball handling, shooting, passing, and footwork while teaching
off-the-ball movement in the half court. The camp will also include skill work,
competitions, and controlled game play. This camp is also available in two
different sessions, the first week being on Monday, December 23rd,
Thursday, December 26th, and Friday, December 27th, 2013,
and the second week on Monday, December 30th, Thursday, January 2nd,
and Friday, January 3rd, 2014. The camp goes from 9am-2pm, costs $75
per day or $199 per weekly session, and all campers will receive a t-shirt.

Kick off the New Year with the Chrismukkah Dodgeball
Challenge, taking place on Sunday, January 5th, 2014 from 10am-9pm.
This 1-day tournament is for boys in 5th-12th grades and
college/adults who want to compete with and against friends to take home the
dodgeball title! Teams will consist of 6-7 players and will play a minimum of 4
matches. A match consists of 5 games that last 6 minutes long, or until a team
is eliminated. The cost is $105 per team.



 



Also happening on Sunday, January 5th, 2014 from
9am-8pm is the Joy of the Game 3-on-3 Holiday Shootout. This inaugural event is
available for boys in 3rd-12th grades and college/adults.
The shootout will offer A & B Divisions at each age level with exciting,
fast-paced games and great competition. Each team will be guaranteed 3 games
plus bracket play. Team size will consist of 3-4 players, and the cost is $20
per player or $90 per team.
