JOY OF THE GAME HOSTS HOOPS FOR HOPE: 3-ON-3 WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

To benefit the American Friends
of the Israel Sport Center for the Disabled,
 in partnership with the
Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago



 



DEERFIELD, IL (OCTOBER
26, 2013) –
Joy of the Game is proud
to team up with the Israel Sport Center for
the Disabled (ISCD)
and the Rehabilitation
Institute of Chicago (RIC)
to bring Hoops for Hope, a 3-on-3 wheelchair
basketball tournament, to the North Suburban community. Taking place on
Saturday, October 26th, from 10:30am to 3:30pm, at Joy of the Game
(158 S. Waukegan Rd. Deerfield), all proceeds from the benefit will support the
disabled athletes of the ISCD, its’ programs and facilities, as well as
continued rehabilitation and education efforts at RIC.

“This wheelchair tournament offers an enlightening
experience to the families and their children throughout our community,” says
Josh Carl, owner of Joy of the Game. “It is proof that anyone can play in
sports – disabled or able-bodied.” Joy of the Game focuses on bringing
enriching programs and events to their state-of-the-art facility, such as Hoops
for Hope, that emphasize athletic ability, academic achievement and community
involvement.

Hoops for Hope includes youth and adult divisions, and
invites disabled and able bodied athlete alike to participate regardless of any
previous wheelchair basketball experience. The event is not only about the game
of basketball, but a day of fun for the entire family. Face painting and a
bounce house are also among the many family activities available. Admission is
$10, children 12 and under are free. Team entry fees are $50 per team.



 



The Israel Sport Center for
the Disabled (ISCD)
is an international pioneer in the field of sports as
rehabilitation for disabled people. For more than 50 years, the remarkable ISCD
staff and volunteers have encouraged the disabled to participate in a variety
of sports activities. Today, more than 3,000 kids and adults participate in twenty
different sports activities, regardless of religion, race, or ethnicity. Their
belief is that sports activities contribute more to confidence, morale, and
self-image of the disabled than any other form of rehabilitation. For more

The Rehabilitation Institute
of Chicago (RIC)
