LMOFA and NWSOFA Chapters Screening of The Dream is Now

On Saturday, August 24, at 1:00 p.m., join Lake/McHenry OFA and Northwest Suburbs OFA at the Palatine Public Library for a screening of The Dream is Now, a 30-minute documentary film that tells the moving story of those directly affected by a broken immigration system, the undocumented children of immigrants who yearn to contribute more to the country they call home. This thought-provoking new film by Davis Guggenheim (Academy Award-winning director of An Inconvenient Truth) puts a human face on the issue and brings attention to Congress' efforts to pass reform that will give undocumented youth and their families the chance to earn their citizenship. The Dream is Now highlights the human stories behind the legislation, focusing on the compelling voices of young people who have so much to offer our country but are unable to pursue an education, employment, or military service because of their immigration status. The film will be followed by a short presentation and a discussion with a Dreamer.

Please join us for the screening of this film to learn more about comprehensive immigration reform efforts and their potential impact. For more information about the film, please visit:
