Paris boasts of two of the finest museums in the world: the Louvre and the Musee d'Orsay, situated on opposite banks of the Seine. The Louvre is almost as old as Paris itself, while the Musee d'Orsay opened in 1986. Explore their intriguing histories and the transformations of the structures themselves. And marvel at the riches within each museum, which together trace the history of French art collections from the age of royalty to the first decade of the 20th century.
