Theatre in the Woods Auditions for SQUABBLES, a comedy by Marshall Karp.

Imagine if your retired father moved in with you.  And then your mother-in-law’s house burns
down, and she moves in with you. Yes, sparks will fly!



Open auditions for Theatre in the Woods’ production of Squabbles, a comedy by Marshall Karp, will
be held Sunday, January 19th, from 2:30-5:30 pm and Monday, January
20th, from 7-10 pm, at Estonian House, 14700 Estonian Lane, in
Riverwoods.  Auditions will consist of
cold readings from the script.



 The play pits a father-in-law against a mother-in-law in a
comedic succession of squabbles that drive their grown children crazy.  Parts are available for 4 men and 3 women:

Jerry Sloan, a jingle writer, open-minded, easy-going; piano
skills a plus.



Alice Sloan, Jerry’s wife, an attorney, and soon-to-be
mother, smart, energetic and diplomatic.

Abe Dreyfus, Alice’s father, a cantankerous retired cabbie,
with a quick wit and a sharp tongue.



Mildred Sloan, Jerry’s mother, a retired music teacher, as
quick and sharp as Abe.



Hector Lopez, a Puerto Rican handyman, warm, honest and down
to earth.



Sol Wasserman, Abe’s card-playing buddy, a retired
pharmacist.



Mrs. Fisher, a very stern and strict nanny for Jerry and
Alice’s baby.





The production is scheduled for March 21-23 and 28-30.
