Bike To Work Day Flashcut CNC

Looking for a way to do good in the Deerfield community? Join Flashcut CNC for its 6th annual bike to work day on Tuesday July 9th at 7:00 am. This year all proceeds from the event will go to Erika’s Lighthouse (ELH) which is dedicated to suicide prevention. Gravely, our community and surrounding communities have recently been plagued by many tragic losses due to suicide. Flashcut CNC would like to use the Annual Bike to Work Day as a "call to action" and raise money to support Erika’s Lighthouse in their valiant effort to bolster suicide prevention and depression awareness.

Erika's Lighthouse is a 501(C)(3) charitable organization based in Winnetka, Illinois. Founded in 2004. Thanks to generous grants and donations like ours, ELH is able to offer free of charge a variety of materials, programs and activities designed to help middle and high school teens, their parents, teachers and health professionals identify depression and the behaviors that can lead to suicide before it is too late. You can find out more information about ELH at www.erikaslighthouse.org.

To sign up to ride in the event, donate without riding or sponsor one of our riders you must fill out and submit the Donation / Rider Form. 100% of all donations will go to Erika’s Lighthouse and there are three ways to pay:

3.     By Bringing a check or cash along with a printout of the Donation /Rider Form to the day of the event.

There will be a t-shirt provided for any rider who raises more than $50. The top fund raising rider will get the coveted yellow T-shirt. Last year, Flashcut CNC raised over $7000 as a group for Skin of Steel in their efforts to advance melanoma research and they hope to raise over $10,000 for ELH.

This year there will be both 10 and 20 mile routes that will be posted before the ride. The ride will be starting from the FlashCut CNC office at 444 Lake Cook Road in Deerfield, loop 10 or 20 miles and return back to FlashCut for breakfast. There will be a refreshment station about halfway through the ride and breakfast will be provided at FlashCut at the end of the ride. The Deerfield Park District has generously donated the use of the Sachs Center locker rooms for anyone who needs to shower after the ride. (They are across Lake Cook Road from FlashCut CNC).

Helmets are required with at least one full water bottle or Gatorade. It is very important that everyone ride safe, follow the rules of the road and be mindful of other bikers and motorists along the entire route. That being said, everyone participating will be doing so at their own risk. There will be a rain out date of July 11th. Please tell your friends to join us and feel free to forward this invite. Feel free to call Flashcut CNC at 847-940-9305 if you have any comments or questions about this great event.

Again, there are one or two forms to fill out:

1. Donation / Rider Form. (everyone must fill this out and submit this)

2. If you are paying by PayPal you need to click on this button on this page and the next page

I hope to see you out on the road to join us in suicide awareness and prevention :)
