Celebrate Tu BiShvat With JNF At Chicagoland Jewish High School
Jewish National Fund (JNF) will host the sixth annual Tu BiShvat Family Celebration on Sunday, January 19, 2014 from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm at Chicagoland Jewish High School. The celebration, which is co-sponsored by the U.S. Forest Service, will celebrate Tu BiShvat, the annual Jewish holiday that observes the new year of the trees.
More than 1,000 members of the Chicagoland community are expected to enjoy crafts, tree plantings, games, great food, visits from Smokey the Bear and Blue Box Bob and live entertainment from local performers at this year’s Tu BiShvat Family Celebration.
JNF is hosting an art contest in conjunction with the Tu BiShvat Family Celebration. The contest is open to students from kindergarten through 5th grade, and is themed “Trees and Israel!” Submissions will be considered through January 13, 2014, and the winners will be announced at this year’s Family Celebration. For contest rules and guidelines, please visit jnf.org/chicagotubishvat.
The JNF Tu BiShvat Family Celebration will take place at Chicagoland Jewish High School at 1095 Lake Cook Road, Deerfield, IL 60015.
