Sign of Christmas Arrives in Town

Meet Deerfield's bell ringer for the Salvation Army kettle drive.

If ever there is a sure sign of the holiday season in downtown Deerfield it is the arrival of the bell ringer at the familiar kettle.

This year the task is being handled by Millon J. Cox of Evanston. He will be in front of from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day through the holidays. It is a part time job for the full time tattoo artist.

“I make tattoos,” Cox said “This job will help me through the holidays.” This is the first time he has worked as a bell ringer so he could not compare it to years past.
