A typical week in the State of Illinois:   good old Rita Crundwell, ex-comptroller from Dixon steals 53.7 million ... gets only 20 years ... Jesse Jackson Jr. and his wife Sandi intend to plead guilty to federal charges alleging the former congressman misused $750,000 in campaign funds while she understated their income on tax returns for six years, their lawyers say.  One governor just got out of prison while another one is still in prison.  We are the brunt of all political jokes across the nation … it is “Chicago politics” and now it is also “Chicago politics in Washington.”  Why the HELL do we all work so hard to have our politicians steal from us? And now they want our pension plan which they
have been stealing from us for years.  We who are members of the state
retirement systems didn't create the horrific debt facing Illinois taxpayers.  It was created by our legislators and governors who continued to spend -- and promise -- more than their income (i.e., taxes) could afford. They had the choice to cut spending or raise taxes. Over and over, they chose to keep spending and promised to find the money later. Now, it's later. And their solution is to blame someone else and steal the money from their employees' retirement funds.”
