May is National Geriatric Care Manager Month

Advice on care for the elderly

Caring for an aging loved one can be challenging and frustrating and leave you feeling overwhelmed.

As geriatric care managers, we often receive calls from adult children trying to cope with sudden changes in their parents' medical condition. They need help interpreting the information they received from the medical professionals and translating it into a realistic action plan.

They may need to bring caregivers into their loved one's home and need help evaluating the options and costs, which can vary widely. They may be employed (or live far away) and cannot spend the additional hours each day caring for their loved one, or taking them to more frequent physican appointments or medical treatments.

They may need to reconsider their parents' housing options in light of these medical changes. The bottom line is they need a geriatric care manager to advise them.

If this describes your situation, give us a call. During May-National Geriatric Care Manager Month, we are offering 30 minute telephone consultations at no charge.
