Anna Bekerman, Holocaust Survivor, Dies at 91

Anna Bekerman (nee Nadel), 91, a Deerfield resident and a survivor of the Holocaust, died Friday.

Bekerman was the beloved wife of the late Adam as well as the loving mother of Susan (Robert) Heinemann and Jonah Mark Bekerman. She was the cherished grandmother of Laurie (Michael) Longfield, and Jacqueline Heinemann and the adoring great grandmother of Kendall and Kylie Longfield. She was the beloved sister of Julius (Lita) Nadel.

Graveside services are scheduled at 10 a.m. today at Shalom Memorial Park (Section XIV Mamre), 1700 West Rand Rd. in Arlington Heights. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center, 9603 Woods Dr., Skokie, 60077.
