Richard R. Seward, age 65, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2014 in the presence of loved ones.
Cherished husband of 39 years to Linda nee Benthaus; devoted father of Julie Schatz (Paul); adoring Opa of Sonja Seward Schatz; beloved brother of Robert, Scott (Gail), Terry (Lynn), John (Debbie), and Jim (Merry Beth) and brother-in-law to Julie Benthaus. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Rich, a long-time resident of Deerfield, enjoyed a 26 year career at Northern Trust.
His love for nature included vacations at Glen Lake, Michigan, bird watching at the Botanic Garden, and gardening in his own backyard.
Rich was an avid fan of Chicago sports, especially the Northwestern Wildcats.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 2 from 1 until 3 p.m. with a remembrance of Rich at 3 p.m. at Kelley and Spalding Funeral Home, 1787 Deerfield Rd., Highland Park.
