Evelyn Raterman, Local Great Grandmother, Dies at 83

Evelyn M. Raterman, nee Gangala, 83, formerly of Deerfield, passed away July 22 Monday.

She was the beloved wife of the late Donald; loving mother of Gary (Linda), Gayle (William) Murray and Janice (Jim) Maleski as well as the cherished grandmother of Stephanie Raterman, Lauren (Mark) Huyett, Brett Ekblad and Nicole Maleski and Kristen Maleski.

She was the adoring great-grandmother of Haleigh and dear sister of the late Charles and Leroy Gangala.

A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kelley & Spalding Funeral Home, 1787 Deerfield Rd., Highland Park. A funeral mass will be celebrate her life at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Cross Church, 724 Elder Lane, Deerfield. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Disease Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago 60601.
