Obituary: Eleanora Jeanette Wampler Lambert, Longtime Bannockburn Resident

Lambert lived in Bannockburn from 1946-2012. She was active in the Bannockburn Garden Club and was a proud volunteer at the voting polls.

Eleanora Jeanette Wampler Lambert, nee Welch, departed from this life on June 21, 2013. 

“Nonie” was born on June 9, 1929 in Evanston to Eleanor, nee Holbrook, and Richard Enlow Welch. She resided in Bannockburn from 1946-2012.

After graduating from Highland Park High School, “Nonie” attended Shimer College. She was active in the Infant Welfare Society and in the Bannockburn Garden Club and took great pride in volunteering at the Bannockburn voting polls. 

“Nonie” was an avid bridge player, book club member in Bannockburn and loved the Chicago Botanic Gardens. She was a member of St. Patrick Church and Tennaqua.

Beloved wife of the late Michael Wampler and the late Michael Stephen "Bud" Lambert; loving mother of John Tilden Wampler, Katherine Wampler Montana, Richard Welch Wampler, Michael Anthony Wampler, Barbara Holbrook Wampler, Julie Lambert Zacharakas, John Patrick Lambert and Michael Stephen Lambert; cherished grandmother of Hannah Holbrook Shedrick, William Edward Shedrick, Madeleine H.J. Wampler, Charles Tilden Wampler, Samuel Michael Wampler, Nicole Ann Lee, Scarlett Lambert Kushida, Melissa Josephine Lambert, Olivia Ashley Lambert, Dominique Faustina Lambert, Kaitlin Michaela Lambert, Patrick John Lambert, Lillie Lambert Zacharakas and Sophie Lambert Zacharakas; dear sister of Barbara Welch and the late Richard E. Welch, Jr. 

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 10:30 am at St. Patrick Church, 991 Waukegan Rd., Lake Forest, IL with a celebration of life to follow. Interment private.
