Got Black Friday Shopping Secrets?

Put your Black Friday shopping ideas in the comment section below, and Patch will share the best of them Thursday morning. Ready, set, shop!

Black Friday begins at 8 p.m. Thanksgiving Thursday for north and northwest suburban Chicago shoppers and Patch wants to know your plan.

Will you head to Toys R Us or Walmart at 8 p.m. Thursday before or after the Thanksgiving dishes are done? Target opens an hour later and will have more than 24 hours of continuous shopping.

How will you take advantage of the deals at both places?

Will you navigate from Toys R Us or Walmart to Macy’s at midnight to ensure you're not too far behind in line for the best bargains?

Does your plan include a partnership? Will you trade lists with a friend and then become a placeholder while someone shops for you? Will you have a thermos of coffee or hot chocolate?

Will you eat your Thanksgiving dessert while waiting in line to shop?

These are some of our thoughts. Share your with us!

Share your plan with your fellow readers in the comment section below.

Feel free to leave the specific stores or locations out of your comment to protect your place in line.

Anyone want to share Black Friday experiences? Are the shoppers crazed, pushy, are you all in it together to find those great deals?

Here's what people are saying Patch-wide about Black Friday..... "There is no need to get so carried away like some people are by sleeping in line for days. Just be a little early at Walmart or the store you choose and be kind, just a little kindness and a smile will go a long way. My guy works at Walmart and he likes his customers and co-workers." "Yes..how about this: REFUSE to go shopping on Thanksgiving night. I will not take my business to a retailer that won't even give their employees a mere 24 hours off to have a holiday with their family." "I was dragged to a Black Friday sale once and my advice is, bundle up, bring entertainment and make sure you have a hot thermal so you can keep warm and hydrated."

Stuck In the long line of cars backed up along the exit ramp to Chicago Premium Outlets in Aurora, I watched piles of people leap out of cars and hop a fence to run up the hill to get to the stores. --That was a few years ago and I haven't done any Black Friday shopping since.

One of Arlington Heights Patch's facebook fans said online deals are her secret to Black Friday deals -- But village officials encourage people to get off the internet and go into stores to help local businesses.
