Letter to the Editor: Oppenheim for Village Board

Mary Oppenheim gets support for April 9 election.

It is with great pleasure that I throw my support behind, Mary Meirose Oppenheim for Village Trustee.

I have known Mary since we worked together in the 1980’s at the Volunteer Pool at South Park. She has been active in the community since before then and continues to be. She has served on various PTO boards, School District 109 Caucus, School District 109 Board of Education, Village Liquor Control Commission, Village Plan Commission and at present, Trustee of the Village Board (since 2009).  Mary has always been active in our community and respects other people and their views. She listens to all views and tries to work towards a consensus or compromise and yet do the best for the whole Village.

Mary is out in the Village attending meetings, functions and getting to know her neighbors and listening to what they need or have to say. She is involved in Relay for Life Highland Park/Deerfield as Survivor Chairperson, Friends of the Library, Board of Directors and Secretary and in the Optimist Club of Deerfield.

I can’t think of anyone who is more qualified to represent our community of Deerfield on the Village Board than Mary.
