Chilling details of alleged baseball bat beating of Marina Aksman of Vernon Hills nearly two years ago in Lake County Criminal Court Thursday, according to an article in the Deerfield Review.
Baker’s account of the events is part of a tape recording made by Detective Charles Schletz of the Lake County Major Crime Task Force days after the alleged beating when Baker was apprehended in Montana.
In the recording Baker is seen acting out the beating and saying, “Odds are I lost control right then, odds are.” Baker’s lawyers are trying to have the tape recording excluded from evidence at Baker’s trial.
