Bannockburn Police Blotter: DUI, Theft

The following arrest information was supplied by the Bannockburn Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

DUI 

Alexander Roberts, 18, of Libertyville was arrested June 7 for driving under the influence (drugs), driving through a red light and driving while using a cell phone, according to Bannockburn Police Reports. 

Roberts was spotted by Bannockburn Police driving his vehicle through a red light while heading eastbound on Half Day Road at the intersection of Waukegan Road using a cell phone, according to the report. After police stopped Roberts, the officer “detected a strong odor of cannabis.”

After Roberts failed a field sobriety test, he was taken into custody, according to the report. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Criminal Court at 9 a.m. July 11 in Waukegan. 

Theft

Two unlocked bicycles were stolen June 5 from a bicycle rack at Trinity International University, according to Bannockburn Police reports. Police observed there were between 20 and 30 unlocked bicycles at the rack.
