Bannockburn Police Blotter: Police Stop Driver, Discover Stolen Goods, No Driver's License.

Possession of Stolen Property, Driving With Revoked License 

Gumersindo Rodriguez-Ojeda of Highwood was arrested Friday for possession of stolen property and driving with a license revoked for driving under the influence, according to Bannockburn Police reports. 

An officer made a random check on a vehicle driving east on Half Day Road and determined from the Illinois Secretary of State the driver the registered owner,  Rodriguez-Ojeda, had his license revoked for driving under the influence, according to the report.

After arresting Rodriguez-Ojeda, the officer, noticed a black strap sticking out from under the driver’s seat which turned out to be a women’s purse, according to the report. Upon further investigation, the officer learned the handbag was reported stolen in October. 

Rodriguez-Ojeda was released on $150 bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 4.

Retail Theft 

Razor blades were reported stolen from Dominick’s Market August 7, according to Bannockburn Police reports. 

A store employee observed two customers placing razor blades into a woman’s purse from the razor blade display and another member of the store staff saw them leave and reported their license plate to police, according to the report. There was a video of the incident. Police are continuing to investigate.
