Blotter: Men Arrested for Driving With Suspended Licenses

Bannockburn police arrested two men in separate incidents for driving infractions. One man gave the officer a traffic citation in lieu of his license.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Bannockburn Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Harlan I. Breger, of Highland Park, was arrested for driving while registration suspended, driving while license suspended, operating an unisured motor vehicle and improper display of registration sticker.

An officer pulled Breger over after he turned out of the Bannockburn Green Retail Center without using a turn signal, according to the police report. When asked, Breger said he didn’t have a driver’s license. The officer also learned Breger was driving a car registered to his late father, which Breger said had been turned over to him, though the title did not reflect that, the report states. The officer said the car’s registration was expired desbite having a 2013 sticker on it.

Breger told the officer that the sticker was for another car belonging to his late father and he must have put it on the wrong car, the report states.

He was released on bail.

Vitalii Shumylo, of Highland Park, was arrested for driving while license suspended. An officer ran the plates of the Mitsubishi Shumylo was driving on Half Day Road and learned that the owner had a suspended license, according to the police report. When the officer asked Shumylo for his license, he said he didn’t have it and gave the officer a traffic citation and told the officer he thought he was all right without his license until his next court date.

He was processed and released on his own recognizance and given a July 2 court date.
