Car Injures Pedestrian in Highland Park

Injuries are not life threatening, driver ticketed.

A pedestrian was transported to Highland Park Hospital Thursday with non life threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in a crosswalk at the intersection of Old Deerfield Road and Richfield Avenue, according to Deputy Highland Park Police Chief Dave Schwarz.

The driver was making a left turn from Old Deerfield Road onto Richfield when the driver hit the person on foot, according to Schwarz. The operator of the vehicle was cited for driving without insurance and failing to yield to a pedestrian.
