Carly Rousso, the Highland Park teenager who is facing charges of reckless homicide and aggravated driving under the influence of an intoxicating compound after driving into and killing a 5-year-old girl last Labor Day, missed a mandatory court appearance Tuesday because she checked into a hospital to be treated for post-traumatic stress, reported the Daily Herald.

Rousso plead not guilty last October to charges filed against her in the death of Jaclyn Santos-Sacramento, reported Patch. She is accused of "huffing" a cleaning product before losing control of her vehicle and striking a mom and her three children, who were walking on the sidewalk.

According to a story in the Chicago TribuneJudge James Booras was displeased that he was not made aware that Rousso would be absent from court, telling her attorney any further issues could result in her bond being revoked.

Rousso's trial is scheduled to begin Sept. 27.
