Cars Burglarized in Hyatt Parking Lot

Drivers return to find windows smashed and items stolen.

Police responded to two car burglaries in the parking lot of Deerfield’s on Sept. 10.

One driver from Evanston told officers that he found a window shattered and several pieces of luggage had been swiped from inside his car. One of the stolen backpacks included his 22-year-old son’s books for school and a new MP3 player.

Meanwhile, a woman, who was in town from Pennsylvania for a wedding, also reported her rental car burglarized around the same time.

The 57-year-old female said her window was smashed and several electronic items, including a flat-screen monitor and two cameras, were stolen.

Police notified Hyatt personnel about the incidents.
