Citizen Complaint Leads to DUI Arrest

The following arrest information was supplied by the Deerfield Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

DUI

Steven Agins, 48, of Deerfield was arrested Oct. 19 for driving under the influence of alcohol after police received a complaint from a citizen of possible DUI behavior, according to Deerfield Police reports.

Police were aware of similar prior behavior by Agins, saw him parked in a driveway in the 200 block of Ramsey and stopped him after he pulled out onto the roadway. After the stop, police smelled the odor of alcohol coming from his breath. He failed a field sobriety test and refused a field breath test. He later took a breath test at the Deerfield Police Station and registered a .046 blood alcohol level. He was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court at 9 a.m. Nov. 13 in Waukegan.

Theft

Christine Zarc, 22, of Gurnee was arrested Oct. 21 for retail theft, according to Deerfield Police reports. Police were called after personnel at Whole Foods observed Zarc putting two items in her purse and walking past the cashier without paying. She was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court at 3 p.m. Nov. 13 in Park City.
