Cougar Roams to Northfield?

A Northfield resident reported a possible cougar sighting on South Happ Road in the morning hours of Sept. 12, according to a Northfield police report. 

Highland Park recently also received a report of seeing a large, tan, feline-type animal similar in stature to a cougar in the 100 block of South Lincoln Avenue. 

In the Highland Park incident, police conducted a follow-up inspection of the area but did not confirm the identification of the animal. Similar cougar-like sightings have also been reported in the Village of Glencoe, route: {:controller=>"articles", :action=>"show", :id=>"sightings-of-large-cat-type-creature-near-glencoe-beach"} --> and
