Dark Tinted Lights Lead to Marijuana Arrest

The following arrest information was supplied by the Bannockburn Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Daniel Lyons, 27, and Patrick O’Reilly, 25, both of Chicago, were arrested Friday for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Bannockburn Police reports. Lyons was also cited for unsafe equipment and a defective windshield.

Police spotted Lyons driving eastbound on Half Day Road in the vicinity of Telegraph Road and observed “dark tinted tail lights,” according to the report. After stopping Lyons, the driver, and O’Reilly, the passenger, police smelled a strong odor of cannabis coming from both the car and them.

A further search of the vehicle uncovered a green leafy substance believed to be cannabis as well as drug paraphernalia. Lyons and O’Reilly were released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 10:30 a.m. June 4 in Park City.
