A Deerfield man has been charged today with criminal damage to property and aggravated assault in connection with a car crash Sunday which took out a wall on Fuddruckers Restaurant in Highland Park, according to a news release from the Highland Park Police Department.

Robert Meisinger, 24, of Deerfield was located by Highland Park Police in Northbrook after hitting the building, causing extensive damage to it and fleeing on foot, according to the release. After he was found, he was taken to Highland Park Hospital with minor, non life threatening injuries. He was the only person in the car.

Before he drove into Fuddruckers on Clavey Road, Meisinger intentionally hit two other motorists, according to the release. The drivers of those cars were not injured.

Should Meisinger be convicted of both criminal damage to property, a Class 3 Felony, and aggravated assault, a Class 4 Felony, he could face between four and 10 years in prison. The Highland Park Police do not have any information yet on the amount of his bond or when he will appear in court.

Fuddruckers remains closed.

So I guess he didn't just lose control in the icy conditions.

That kind of damages had to be from a drunk driver

Thomas, I'm guessing that because he purposely went to hit people, it was (in some legal terms) that getting into a wreck was foreseeable. I'm also sure he was drunk too. So, that's still an outcome you should know could happen.

Richard: What is a "hat", never heard that term. What makes him a typical *****hat north shore kid? This is the 1st one I've heard of running into a business, one where he used to be a line cook according to his FB page.

my guess on the outcome of this case wil be " Nolle Prosequi" on the felonies and receive probation and some community service hours for the misdemeanors .., just like the two boys received for the armed home invasion last summer!!

Well, if he used to work there, he must be a disgruntled worker.

Maybe he contracted a water-borne brain illness from drinking fecal matter in water over the summer. I'd give that defense a try.
