Driver Crashes, Flees, Gets Arrested
The following arrest information was supplied by the Bannockburn Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Eduardo Cruz-Sanchez, 31, of Highwood was arrested Sunday for driving under the influence, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, driving while license suspended and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, according to Bannockburn Police reports.
Police received a call informing them a vehicle struck a fence near Half Day Road and Dunsinane Lane and then fled eastbound on Half Day Road, according to the report. A further investigation revealed the vehicle crossed the median strip before the crash. Police also found the vehicle’s license plate.
Continuing the investigation, police learned the identity of the vehicle’s owner and the driver, Cruz-Sanchez, from the Highwood Police Department, according to the report. Cruz-Sanchez was then stopped in Highwood. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 9 a.m. Nov. 13 in Waukegan.
