Fugitive Turns Herself In, Kind Of and Other Odd Police News

A look at weird crime news in the northern Chicago suburbs.

Local police departments provided the following reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt.

Vandals give resident a unicycle

A Glenview resident reported that someone punctured three tires on their vehicle while it was parked in their driveway.

Even shoplifters have to do their taxes

A Harvard, IL man was charged with stealing calculators from the Walmart in Crystal Lake.

Locked out to locked up with one simple phone call

A 24-year-old woman called Deerfield Police because she was locked out of her car. Police asked for her driver’s license to assure she should be in the car and a check showed she was wanted in McHenry County for a 2009 retail theft charge, according to the report. She was arrested as a fugitive from justice.

Speed limitless

Someone spray painted a Northbrook speed limit sign, making it unreadable, police say.

The day the music was tried

Two 19-year-olds were charged with stealing a drum set from a parked vehicle in Crystal Lake.

Tried toRead More keep much of old structure, but Igor's rehab and lack of upkeep, made it impossible. couldn't even keep floors, all warped from water and walls full of mold. City did nothing to stop Igor from combining two distinct properties. I am having a champagne lunch Wed. June 19, 11:30 to 1:30. Would love for you to come and see the house. Annette - my first statement was "beautiful house" so I have no qualms with your outcome -Read More however, this is a re-do, re-creation not the original house. But good luck! I am sure you will find a buyer quickly!
